Journaling Your Future: The Art of Manifestation

Writer's picture: Letecia GriffinLetecia Griffin

When I made the decision to start Envision Coaching & Consulting LLC, my desire was to educate about mental health and wellness and assist people with overcoming a sense of "stuckness." Each week, I crack my knuckles, stare at the computer screen, and ask myself, "What mental wellness tips can I bring to my readers this week?" Last week, we delved into self-care and it's power to improve the mental, emotional, and physical health of those who make it a regular practice. This week, I'd like to explore with you one of my self-care practices that I have been utilizing for the last 4 years, manifestation journaling.

Manifestation Journaling, What Is It?

Manifestation journaling is a practice centered around the idea that our thoughts, beliefs, and intentions have the power to shape our reality. Based on the idea of atracting what is already yours, it involves using a journal or notebook to intentionally focus on and manifest your desires, goals, and aspirations into your life.

Manifestation Journaling, The Foundation

In order to understand the foundation, one must understand that manifestation journaling is more than just wishful thinking. It is a tool you can use to design your life. Once you understand this you can move on to setting your intentions. What is it that you want to manifest? You have to be able to answer this question before ever sitting down putting pen to paper. Do you want better health? Do you want a more fulfilling career? Do you want to nurture more enriching relationships? Having a clear idea of your desires is crucial. Once you have identified what it is you want, write your intentions in the present tense as if they are already part of your reality. An example of this could be, "I am grateful for the abundance in my life."

Manifestation Journaling, The Ritual

Stay with me now. I will describe my process and then hopefully you will understand what I mean by ritual. The first step in my manifestation journaling ritual is the journal itself. I do not use a regular tablet or notebook for this task. That's boring. I go browsing to find the journal that is not only functional for the task at hand but also unique and cute. My journal has to beckon to me. Meaning, I have to get excited about the prospect of writing in it. No everyday run of the mill tablet is going to get me excited about writing. Next up is the scene. I have to set the scene, selecting a quiet corner where I can sit back, relax, and clear my mind. Once the scene is set, I grab my gratitude journal. I know. Totally different journal but this is my process. I take my gratitude journal and write all the things that I am grateful for that day. As I reflect, I allow the molecules in my body to vibrate. I literally feel a sense of calm wash over me. Once this is achieved, I am not ready to transition over to my manifestation journal. I follow this same process each and every night.

Manifestation Journaling, The Power of Affirmations

The affirmations that you select must align with you and your desires. The affirmations that you select should be positive, specific, and believable to you. Heavy on the believable to you. And remember to phrase your affirmations in the present tense (as if you already have them right now).  Stuck on where to start? Please review our article, "50 Positive Thoughts & Affirmations to Combat Negative Self-Talk." Now that you have some positive affirmations to get you started, get your minds eye involved. Imagine, with vivid detail, the feelings and experiences associated with achieving your goals. What does it feel like to live an abundant life? What does it look like for you? What does it feel like to be deserving of love, happiness, and success? What does that look like for you? Visualize it in your mind.

Manifestation Journaling, The Review

I began writing in my manifestation journal August 31, 2019 and have done so consistently ever since. Consistency is the key. The only way I have been able to maintain this consistency is by establishing dedicated time each evening for me to complete this task for myself. But I do more than just collect pages of wishes, hopes, and dreams. Periodically, I flip through to see how did we do. I am still waiting on my 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath home with a study, sunroom, and in-home library. However, periodically reviewing my entries has enabled me to see how many more of my desires actually have come into fruition.

Manifestation Journaling, Just Believe

The hardest part for me starting this journey was trusting the process. Even more, when I first started I had to overcome the limiting beliefs in the recesses of my mind telling me all the reasons why this was silly or it wouldn't make a difference or it was a waste of time. I kept reading or watching YouTube videos that encouraged releasing my attachment to outcomes. Detaching myself from feelings of desperation or need. It has taken work and is still taking work for me to let go and remember that something greater than me wants me to be happy and is conspiring in my favor to bring forth my desires. And guess what? The same is true for you. You deserve health, wealth, happiness, and abundance. Though yours may not look like someone else's, this slice of heaven is available to you too.

So what about you? Do you currently use a manifestation journal? If so, have you noted any successes in your story? Please feel free to share your experiences in the comments below. Starting a manifestation journal is a commitment to self-discovery, intentional living, and the belief in the power of the mind. Not the mind. Your manifestation journal isn’t just a collection of words; it’s a canvas for the creation of your extraordinary life. It is a form of self-care and self-nurturing. Whether your aim is financial abundance, finding love, or securing your dream job, grab your journal and get to writing. Embrace the process, nurture your dreams, and trust in the power of manifestation. And please remember as you begin your wellness journey, do not worry about getting it perfect; just get it going. Until next time. Happy reading!
